Precautions for paid internship are the same as in ② above. However, students whose Period of Study will be completed at the end of the academic year in which the internship takes place, and have earned 112 or more credits required for graduation may apply to work more than 28 hours per week outside of long breaks. (3) After graduation/leaving iCLA Upon graduation/Withdrawal/Dismissal from the University, a student’s residence card will become invalid regardless of its expiration date. Therefore, holders of the residence status “Student” must immediately return to their home country or apply for an appropriate residence status. Students who have been seeking employment since before graduation but have not received an offer may extend their stay for 6 months by changing their status of residence from "Student” to "Designated Activities (Job Search)" if they wish to continue seeking employment in Japan after graduation. The period can be extended for another 6 months if necessary. A letter of recommendation from the University is required to apply, and students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and have been continuously seeking employment since before graduation. This is a status of residence that allows students who have been offered employment to stay in Japan until they are hired by the company. Students should consult with the company where they will be working and complete the change of status of residence procedures. After receiving a job offer, students should consult with the company to change to the appropriate status of residence that allows work, such as an "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services.” In order to continue education at another educational institution in Japan, students must submit a "notification of the accepting organization" to the nearest regional immigration services bureau within 14 days of graduation or after leaving the University. The form can be downloaded from the Ministry of Justice website, and the application can be submitted online (https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/applications/procedures/nyuukokukanri10_00014.html). 49
