Shimekazari Workshop Announcement 「しめ飾り」
Hello everyone!
The International Exchange Center organizes workshops throughout the year for everyone in order to experience Japanese culture and traditional crafts.
In December, we will hold a workshop where you can handcraft the “Shimekazari” to decorate when welcoming the New Year.
Learn about the origin of Shimekazari, which is indispensable as a New Year decoration, and the meaning behind its materials.
Let’s handcraft a unique shimenawa decoration!
Not only as a New Year’s decoration, but also as a Christmas wreath, or even as a swag that can be displayed all year round. We have prepared thinking about a small size so that you can put it in your dormitory or apartment!
