The Language Commons (LaCoMo) on the 2nd floor of the new Building 9 is officially open on April 23 (Friday).
LaCoMo is a facility designed based on the different concepts of “Japanese Cafe,” “English Cafe,” and “Cafe Counter,” and was established to support students’ language learning and to promote active cross-cultural and student exchange.
◆【Japanese Cafe】
This is a place where international students can interact with each other and with Japanese students in Japanese. Of course, in principle, Japanese is the only language used in the room. Periodically, there will be a “Japanese language support desk” for international students. Various other exchange events are also planned.
◆【English Cafe】
This is a place to interact in English. In principle, English is the only language used in the room. Periodically, we hold an event called “English Cafe” where you can interact with iCLA international students in English through games and other activities.
◆【Cafe Counter】
A coin-operated café machine will be set up, and snacks will be available for purchase. However, for the time being, use of the coin-operated café machines will be limited to prevent corona virus.
≪Caution≫
In order to prevent the spread of covid-19, eating and drinking in the rooms of the Japanese Cafe and English Cafe is prohibited for the time being.
▶Opening hours: Weekdays 9:00-17:00 (punctual)
