The Social Science Research Department's program is based on evening classes and seeks
to develop the careers of people working as civil servants, local government employees and
school teaching staff. It aims to foster people to play important roles in politics,
administration, the economy and in education.

Department of Food Nutrition (to develop food specialists)
The culture of food is the oldest aspect of human culture. The Department of Food
Nutrition takes a specialist and comprehensive approach to the study of food culture. As
well as food and nutrition, all related areas are also studied, including food production
and cookery. The scope of study extends to medical areas such as dissection physiology,
exercise physiology, health management issues, and pathology.
Department of Child Care (to develop high quality child care professionals)
By helping students to acquire comprehensive knowledge and technical skills, the school
seeks to develop people that can contribute in the fields of both child education and
child welfare.
Advanced Programs are 2-year programs and offer 2 courses |Food and Nutrition, and Child Care and Education.
These programs are targeted at the students who have completed the curriculum of Yamanashi Gakuin Junior College, or those who already have working experience in the field and seek to acquire further skills and knowledge. Students who completed study at our Advanced Programs can be awarded Bachelorfs degrees, which enable them to continue their studies in postgraduate courses, both in Japan and overseas.
ĶA thesis must be assessed by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation for the degree.
